Joe Bova Conti
Coach Joe started playing hockey in 1970, always a goalie. For the next several years, he played on various teams including the Missouri State Highway Patrol Police Olympic team. Later he played in the BHL and Hockey North America. Joe is in his 37th year of coaching hockey and was the first male coach to take an organized all female team 25 years ago. Coach Joe has coached at all levels of youth hockey, including learn to play, U12, U14, U16, and U19. In addition, Joe coached Senior Men, senior women in the WCHL, Varsity High School and was the Director of Hockey Operations and Coaching for the St. Louis AAA Blues Girls’ Hockey Club. Joe also coached in the MidStates Varsity League and was Director of coaching for the Parkway South Hockey Club. Coach Joe was also honored to be part of the Lindenwood Belleville Lady Lynx coaching staff with the primary duty of coaching the goaltenders as well as strength and conditioning for almost 2 years. Today coach Joe is the head coach for the St. Louis Lady Cyclones U19 Elite team. Joe is a USA Hockey Level 5 coach and has been dedicated to the game for nearly 4 decades, focusing on developing the entire person and the mental aspect of the game. Most recently Joe has joined the CHS family (College Hockey Showcases) as a volunteer staff member working to help girls get to play college hockey. Coach Joe resides in St. Louis with his wife Janet of 43 years. Coach Joe considers his players as his family and to that end stays in touch years after the player has moved on. He continues to do private strength and conditioning for elite athletes and has been an advocate and mentor to many kids over the years. Joe is a retired Detective Sergeant with over 35 years of service in Law Enforcement.
