Meet Shirley

I am a wife, mom, daughter, dog mom, friend, licensed professional Counselor, ice skating coach, drummer, songwriter and podcaster. I love music, mostly classic rock, country and American Standards. I have played in several cover bands. Currently, I am in a virtual band, the CrossWire Band. We cover many songs by The Beatles, Country songs by Miranda Lambert, Brooks and Dunn, Shania Twain and more. We also have an Oldies and Classic Rock set covering artists such Sam Cooke, The Monkees, Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, and others. I am a HUGE Rod Stewart and Ringo Starr fan. My husband, Ken Panu, CiCi Ranek and I recorded a self-titled album called Steel Blue Rose. This album was produced by George Clinton and Robin Knuckles.

I love figure skating, particularly ice dancing. I am a US Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Ice Dancing. I have coached freestyle, Moves in the Field, ice dancing and power skating for many years. I am a St Louis Blues hockey fan. I performed in the production of Cinderella On Ice at the St Louis Muny Opera, featuring Olympic skater, Robin Cousins.

People have asked me about our podcast, We Heart Your Life. It all started when my husband, Ken said, "There are lots of self-help podcasters out there, you're a counselor, have you thought about that?" I thought about it and said, yes, but I would rather have a show where I can help people learn about others and hopefully, motivate individuals to perhaps try something new or learn about people who are living lives that bring purpose and joy.

I find people interesting. I love watching others find their passion in life. I enjoy encouraging people to live their dreams even if it seems impossible. We Heart Your Life, gives Michele and I the opportunity to invite our audience into other people's lives and hopefully motivate them to live their best life.
